    Halls of Residence

« Previous page Next page »

Arthur VickWarwick Accommodation is here to provide you with the smoothest transition possible in the move away from home that many students undergo with the progression to university. Most students live on campus for their first year, as well as many finalists, postgraduates and international students. With 6,283 rooms on-campus and 1,500 off-campus, Warwick Accommodation will undoubtedly be able to find you somewhere that caters for all your needs.

Residences vary in style and are scattered across the University. Some, such as Arthur Vick, Lakeside and the newly built Bluebell, provide en-suite facilities. Others such as Rootes and Cryfield have shared bathrooms, but also have the benefit of being very central, sociable, lively and are much less expensive than those with en-suite facilities.

Many people live in Westwood, which is a short walk away from main campus and feels like an individual community in its own right. Most residences cater to exclusive years – for example post-graduates and first years are rarely housed in the same residence. All halls are surrounded by, or overlook, fields, lakes or woods, giving each hall of residence its own distinct character and feel.

It doesn't take long to make a real connection with your hall of residence. Students are often very quick to personalise their study bedrooms, decorating and accessorising them as soon as they arrive. Shared kitchen and lounge areas quickly feel as if they belong to an extended family. Halls of residence soon become homes.

    Bedroom in HurstCampus life

Living on campus means everything is included or right at hand – you even get your kitchen and bathrooms cleaned every week! Each room also has access to high-speed broadband Internet. Students living off-campus certainly miss the days of all-inclusive gas and electricity bills… Every hall has a resident tutor or warden who looks after the welfare of the students, organising events for the block as well as providing assistance with personal problems and concerns.

When you’re not in your bedroom though, the most likely place you’ll find yourself is the Library.
