Wheels for All Santa Ride 2016

santa_ride_2016.jpgUniversity of Warwick students, staff and Warwick Volunteers joined Coventry Wheels for All and Coventry City Council staff on a fun and festive Santa Ride despite the misty December day.

Led by Bike Right, the short 2 mile ride along the Connect2Kenilworth cycle route through the Warwickshire countryside, gave the riders in red the chance to socialise with others who like cycling - and dressing as Santa!

Riders tried out some of the Wheels for All adapted bikes - and found out that trikes can have very nifty steering and that hills can pose even more of a challenge for hand operated bike users.

The cycling santas donated to Coventry Wheels for All to help them to buy more adapted bikes to give people with disabilities the opportunity to take part in cycling.

Before heading back to their offices and libraries, the Santas had a good chat and warm up at Cryfield Pavilion with mince pies and a hot chocolate.
