Campus Rooms Clearance
(We are hoping to bring alot of changes to "Campus Rooms Clearance" so - keep in touch! )
Each year, a significant volume of saleable goods and food is left behind by undergraduate and postgraduate students and without intervention, the majority of this is incinerated
For the past two years, Warwick Volunteers -in partnership with Oxfam and Warwick Accommodation- has been building the capacity necessary to:
- Reduce the environmental impact of this waste
- Recycle as much unsaleable stock as possible
- Recover stock of significant value to support a range of local charities and help Oxfam's work in overcoming poverty and suffering. The project also allies with local homeless and refugees' charities to redirect food and other goods. Thus far, we have supported Oxfam, the Coventry Peace House, the Coventry Refugee Centre, Second Chance, the Turn Around Project, Age Concern charity shops, Coventry Homeless projects (Norton House, Coventry Cyrenians, Jesus Army), Kairos and many other.
