"To the dull mind, nature is leaden.
To the illumined mind the whole world burns and sparkles with light"
Ralph Waldo Emerson
There are over 18,000 students at Warwick University. The campus provides an extremely attractive environment in which to work and play. It is our hope that the students who come to Warwick will respect the beauty of the campus and help to preserve it for future generations.
The University of Warwick Students Union provides resources for campaigning societies including People and Planet (formerly 3rd World First) and other related groups. The University is justifiably proud of its active student population.

Warwick’s
People & Planet Society is very active. In addition to campaigning on local and national environmental campaigns, the group organises
GoGreen Week - a week of diverse events across campus and beyond, with something for everyone to get involved in.
Environmental events for 2010-11 at Warwick
- Prepare yourself for GoGreen Week during Term 2. Go on ... get involved.
- The StudentSwitchOff inter-halls competition will be running again during 2010/11. This energy reduction competition will enable all 6000 campus residents to sign up to become champions, compete against other halls and universities and have the opportunity to win prizes.
- Reduce your carbon footprint, avoid the queues and get your Student Travel Card early.
- Looking for a new bicycle. Why not take advantage of the all-in cycle package that has been negotiated with a local bicycle shop?
- Not keen on cycling and don't want to pay parking charges. Why not opt for an electric scooter or electric bike
