About Us

The Warwick Policy Lab (WPL) engages academics and researchers from a range of disciplines as well as policy makers and individuals who have first-hand experience of how government decisions are made.

The WPL also runs a variety of events and speaking engagements that facilitate dialogue and the exchange of ideas between academics, research students and figures from the private and public sectors.

Its research projects address interesting policy issues, are developed in partnership with non-academic partners and aim to disseminate findings and recommendations in an accessible manner.

action focussed

Action Focussed

Insights from service users and frontline workers are sometimes neglected in the design of new policies. WPL analysts will use a range of methods to ensure that this is not the case with its work.

WPL projects will be designed and developed with practitioners, users and the frontline very much in mind.

collaborative

A collaborative approach

The best results often arise when people with different perspectives, experience and expertise share ideas and work together. Co-directed by an academic and a non-academic, the WPL encourages engagement from a wide and diverse range of individuals and organisations.

Based in a university, it has access to academics from a host of disciplines and it also reaches out to external experts from the wider public and private sectors.

Our Analysis

The University of Warwick is a leading Higher Education Institution whose research and scholarly achievements are internationally acclaimed. It is a member of the UK's prestigious Russell Group of universities. The WPL is fortunate to be able to draw on the excellent analytical skills of the University's academics and research students.

This allows the WPL to examine a range of economic and social factors around a given policy issue and to provide robust calculations on the implications of research findings and policy recommendations.
