Welcome Event 2011
Parents and family members of new students were invited to attend the Vice-Chancellor's Welcome Event. This was held during Arrivals Weekend on Saturday 1st October and Sunday 2nd October at 2pm in the Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre.
An invitation to this annual event is included in your student's Welcome to Warwick induction pack. Students and their families are allocated a date for the Welcome Event based on when your Warwick student has been asked to arrive on campus. The arrival dates are staggered to prevent congestion and reduce the amount of time spent waiting.
The Welcome Event provides an opportunity for families to hear directly from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Thrift, and other speakers about life here at Warwick and the various services, resources and opportunities available for students. If you missed the 2011 Welcome Event, you can now watch the speeches online.
The Welcome Event is always very popular. Seats are not allocated in advance therefore it is important to arrive early to avoid disappointment. A certain amount of seating is reserved for those with special requirements.
New students were invited by the Vice-Chancellor to attend a separate event as a welcome to the University. For undergraduates this took place at 9.00am on Monday 3rd October in the Butterworth Hall, and for postgraduates at 9.00am on Tuesday 4th October in the Arts Centre Cinema.
