Warwick awarded £100,000 for 10 Ford Scholarships
William Clay Ford, great-grandson of Henry Ford and executive chairman of Ford Motor Company has announced that the University of Warwick is one of only 12 UK universities to be awarded funding from the Ford Blue Oval Scholarship Programme.

New Year's Honour for Warwick alumnus
Warwick alumnus Gus O'Donnell (BA Economics 1970-73), Cabinet Secretary under three Prime Ministers between 2005 and 2011, was recognised in the recent Queen's New Year Honours. He was created a life peer as Baron O'Donnell, of Clapham in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

Donations support student research projects
Donations from alumni and friends have recently supported the Undergraduate Research Scholarship Scheme. This provides bursaries of up to £1000 to allow undergraduate students to undertake a short research project within a department or research centre.

Election success for Warwick alumna
Seema Malhotra (BA Philosophy and Politics 1991-94) won the recent Parliamentary by-election for the Feltham and Heston constituency in West London. Seema, a former adviser to Harriet Harman, retained the seat for Labour after a swing of 8.56% points from the Conservatives.

Warwick research indicates obesity and diabetes risk is determined in the womb
New research from Warwick Medical School, unveiled at its Human Metabolism Symposium, indicates some of your risk of developing obesity, diabetes and heart conditions is pre-determined whilst in the womb.

Rachel KerrAlumna of the month
Rachel Kerr (BA Law & Sociology 2005-08) is a rising star in British RnB who has shared the same stage as US megastars Musiq Soulchild, Donell Jones, Avant, Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond. She launched her debut EP 'Back to Music' in January and performed at Bush Hall in London to promote it.
