The most-subscribed daily national newspaper of Germany – Süddeutsche Zeitung – will host our Warwick alumni community on 30.03.2017 (18.00) at their Munich offices. The journalists of this leading newspaper will discuss with us the recent global phenomenon – rise of fake news – and its impact on journalism and society.
Who will you meet?
We will be hosted by journalists from the political and economic sections: Dr. Kim Björn Becker and Caspar Busse.
Caspar works as senior reporter in the business department at Süddeutsche Zeitung. He studied Economics in Munich and attended the Georg von Holtzbrinck School of financial journalism in Düsseldorf. Before joining Süddeutsche Zeitung in 2005, Caspar worked as an editor at Handelsblatt in its Berlin and Munich offices.
Kim is a reporter at the politics department at Süddeutsche Zeitung. He holds a PhD in Political Science and focuses on national health policy. Before joining the newspaper in 2011, Kim Björn worked as a freelance writer for Süddeutsche Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
This discussion will be moderated by our own expert in the field of media – Inga Moser v. Filseck, who is a Senior Manager Media Policy at Vodafone. She holds a Master in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick and focuses on the regulation of Vodafone’s TV platforms. Before joining the company in 2015, Inga worked as head of office to a German MEP at the European Parliament in Brussels focusing on media, copyright and internal market policies.
