    Andreas Antoniades
    MA International Political Economy 1998-99
    Andreas is Director of the Centre for Global Political Economy and Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the University of Sussex. He has just published a new book entitled Producing Globalisation: The Politics of Discourse and Institutions in Greece and Ireland.

    BA Art History 1994-97 and MA History of Art 1998-99
    Has co-written a jewellery design book (with her sister). Spellbinding Bead Jewellery (David & Charles) was inspired by mythical and fictional characters.

    Philippa Bevan (née Hollidge)
    BSc Microbiology and Virology 1995-98
    Started her own business, Accelerate Associates, in 2007. Accelerate Associates is a marketing and market research service for SMEs operating in the medical and science markets. Prior to this, Philippa worked for Bibby Sterilin Limited and NHS Innovations. On a more personal note, Philipa gave birth to a daughter, Chloe Elizabeth on 16 May 2008.

    BSc Accounting and Finance 1996-99

    Gavin is a Chartered Accountant who joined the insurance industry in Bermuda in 2003. He is Vice President and Controller of Validus Reinsurance Ltd and responsible for heading their Finance and Operations Departments. He has recently been awarded the prestigious Young Industry Leader of the Year Award by the Bermuda Insurance Institute.

    Sharon Bolton
    MBA 1991–92
    Her second novel Awakening (Bantam Press) was published in April 2009. A thriller, it is the story of a young veterinary surgeon with a dark secret and the aftermath of the day she saved a baby from a snake. Sacrifice, her first novel, was published in 2008 and won the Amazon UK Best New Read. Sharon is married to Andrew Burtenshaw (MBA 1991-92) and they live near Oxford with their seven year old son.

    Currently working in India for an educational NGO called the Purkal Youth Development Society. Guy has been living in India for a year and is studying for an MA part-time. He originally went to India to study yoga and planned to stay for a couple of months, however something grabbed him as he travelled around the country and he ended up staying and totally changing his life.

    Has been awarded chartered status in her field of independent financial advice, one of only 200 women out of around 1,500 Chartered Financial Advisers in the UK.

    Benjamin Chatfield
    BA French Studies 1993-96

    Benjamin has just completed his first book, Mediterranean Homesick Blues: From Coventry to St Tropez to Coventry, which features many Warwick references. Mediterranean Homesick Blues is a diary cum guidebook cum cultural smorgasbord about a year Benjamin spent split between a role as a language assistant in Cannes and as a beachseller-waiter in St. Tropez.

    Sue Child
    BA Sociology and Education 1996–99
    After graduating from Warwick, Sue went to Plymouth University to read for a PhD in Sociology. After successfully completing this in 2003 she celebrated by going on a world cruise the day after her viva! She has since been employed in various lecturing roles at Plymouth University. From September 2009, Sue has had a new role as a Research Fellow at the Peninsula Medical School on a University of Exeter appointment.

    Trevor has recently published Who Goes There: A Challenge to Humanity a moral and ethical appraisal of social influences of the lives of human beings.

    Nick Davidson (BA History and Politics 1990-93) and Shaun Hunt (BA History 1990-93)
    The pair have recently published Modern Football is Rubbish (Sportsbooks Ltd), ’a book for those of you who pine for cup upsets, muddy pitches and ridiculous sideburns’. Nick and Shaun met playing for the same football team (Athletico Spleenectomy). The team is still going strong after 18 years and plays every week at the Sports Connexion in Coventry.

    Rossana Favero-Karunaratna (LLM Law and Development 1993-94)

    Currently a PhD candidate (Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo) in the area of immigration, intermarriage and citizenship. Published a book on these issues in 2002 (Sudu-The legal status of foreign spouses in Sri Lanka).

    Worked as a tutor for the programme of Conflict Resolution organized by Bradford University in association with SSA. Edited a book on South-South experiences in conflict resolution. Published a book "Condors and peacocks-from Latin America to Sri Lanka" based in personal experience, would say it is part of the so called diasporic literature. Published short stories for children for Perera Hussein Publishing House, Iguana Magazine in the USA and Channels Literary Journal in Sri Lanka.

    Happily married to Kahandawala Parakrama (LLM Law and Dev. 93-94) who is involved in an environmental legal consultancy at the moment and proud mother of two children - one already graduated from Havana University (Knowledge Management).

    Since graduating Warren has been a professional singer and has worked with children and adults with disabilities. He has undertaken several voluntary projects overseas including building a health centre in Kibungo, Rwanda (the setting for his new novel, The Go-Away Bird). He lives in London.

    Cambridge University Press has just published John's new book The Evolution of the Modern Workplace. The book provides an analysis of the extensive changes that have taken place in employment relations within British workplaces over the past 25 years. It charts the decline of trade unions and the rising importance of the law.

    LLM Law in Development 1996-97
    Nicole runs a finance website called The Automatic Earth and is an international lecturer on energy and finance. With her partner she has been explaining the credit crunch, and where it goes from here, online since January 2008. She recently launched a video of one of her presentations. It can be found here.

    Alexandra has been living and working in Ecuador since graduating in 2004. She works in the jungle with HCJB Global to help communities build their own drinking water systems.

    Duncan has just published his second book. His first was an academic history book, based on his PhD thesis, but this new book, Brambleholme Summer, is a children's adventure story!

    Janet Harris (née Dash)
    MA English Language Teaching for Young Learners 1995–97
    Left Barbados to take up a position as a Spanish teacher in the Cayman Islands. She is now Head of her department and Senior Tutor at her school. Janet was recently awarded a Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.

    Was appointed Honorary Editor of Northamptonshire Past & Present, the annual journal of the Northamptonshire Record Society. She has just completed her second issue. In 2000 she wrote the biography of George Freeston, “recording angel” of Blisworth, Northamptonshire.

    Rob and Tess now own their own e-learning consultancy, specialising in e-learning strategy development, the design and delivery of innovative learning solutions and e-learning training. They have also recently launched a rapid e-learning development course using 3D gaming, social networking and collaborative learning.     Talip has been appointed as Director of Middle East Institute at Marmara University in Istanbul. He is also Director of Foreign Policy Research at the SETA Foundation, a leading think-tank based in Ankara, Turkey.

    Since graduating, David has been engaged in numerous areas of work at Walsall College where he began his Further Education teaching career in October 1981. After leaving Warwick he became involved with a university partnership to enable students to progress to Higher Education and was instrumental in Hospitality and Travel Programmes offered at the College.

    He also undertook a HEFCE funded secondment, was a curriculum manager for several years for hospitality, travel & tourism and languages. He has also established study programmes with partner institutions in Russia and more recently held the role of international tutor for those overseas students who follow our programmes at Foundation and Graduate Diploma level; linked to a number of partner universities – a role which he is thoroughly enjoying and hopes to expand.

    Maureen has been appointed to the cabinet of the Government of Nova Scotia, Canada. She has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly since 1998 and is Minister for Health, Health Promotion and Protection; and Gaelic Affairs.

    Seema Malhotra
    BA Philosophy and Politics 1991-94
    Seema was a freelance management consultant with over 10 years' experience of working with organisations such as Accenture and PriceWaterhouse Coopers. After leaving Warwick she also developed a political career which included running for the London Assembly, advising politicians and government on diversity issues and becoming the first Asian chair of the Fabian Society. She was recently elected MP for Feltham and Heston.

    Soon after Warwick Annabella set up her own company back in Peru providing legal services and project management to the third sector. Back in the UK now, she has incorporated a partnership which trades locally and overseas: M C International Links Limited. Among other things, they provide the best suited volunteers in community and development in the UK and India. She is loving every minute of her job: rewarding, exciting and very down to earth.     After adding a Warwick MBA to a BEd, Helen worked in consultancy for 16yrs. Even in turbulent economic times, her MBA has helped ensure employability and Helen has recently joined Circus Space, the UK’s premier circus school, as Head of Business Development.

    Since graduating Joanne has moved into the 'dark side' of the biotech industry, otherwise known as sales and marketing. She is currently Director Marketing and Sales at SynCo Bio Partners in The Netherlands, a contract manufacturing organisation, producing recombinant proteins and vaccines for clinical trials or the commercial market.

    Currently senior research fellow at the World Institute for Development Economics of the United Nations University. He has just co-edited a book entitled Vulnerability in Developing Countries. With over a billion people living in extreme poverty, this volume pulls together essays from leading scholars. It focuses on critical dimensions of vulnerability in developing countries such as the relationship between poverty and vulnerability

    After graduating in 1997 Colin became an actuary with Watson Wyatt in Birmingham working in the trustee pensions consulting field. He worked over the next nine years in various pensions consultancies in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Belfast.

    In 2008 he moved into academia and set up the actuarial science and risk management degree at Queens University Belfast. The highly successful degree has around 40 students per year graduating and going into high level actuarial employment. He is enthusiastic about good teaching and engagement with students and has been successful in winning many awards for his teaching activities. Most notably he was awarded a QUB teaching award in 2010 and in 2011 was a finalist in the Times Higher Education's Most Innovative Teacher of the Year.

    In July 2009 Sylvia published the first of two books on the history of Ledbury, a Herefordshire market town. For the past four years she has been working for the Victoria County History Trust in Herefordshire, writing the books and involving local people with the research. Ledbury: a market town and its Tudor Heritage was by a companion volume, Ledbury: people and parish before the Reformation, early in 2010.

    Siân is a multi-award-winning television and radio documentary producer, specialising in history and military. Television credits include Time Team, Coal House and Beyond Boundaries. After graduating from Warwick, she went on to study for an MA in Film Archiving & Film Studies at the University of East Anglia. She has recent published her first book, If You're Reading This, a moving collection of ‘farewell letters’ written by servicemen and women to their loved ones, which was inspired by her BBC Radio 4 documentary of the same name that won a New York Festivals Radio Award for History. Siân now lives in Cardiff.

    Siddharth is a commercial and transactional lawyer and a founding partner of the Bangalore-based law firm, Narasappa, Doraswamy & Raja. Although founded only in early 2006, NDR is already ranked by the Asia Pacific Legal 500 as a Tier 1 law firm in Bangalore. Siddharth himself is ranked in Band 1 amongst private equity lawyers in India.

    Seeichi now works for Alternative Investment Capital Limited in Tokyo which is a gatekeeper and fund of funds manager specializing in private equity funds.

    Shubert returned to Zambia after graduation. In July 2002 he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Zambia where he is still serving. He is grateful for the exposure he had at Warwick, especially from Professor Baxi.

    After Chris left Warwick he spent five years as a post doc in Reading. Following this he moved to work for Cadbury Schweppes (great job - too many meetings with bowls of mini eggs though!) and has been at the University of Nottingham for just over three years. Chris really enjoyed his time at Warwick, misses the old place and would like to say 'hi' to anybody that knows him.

    Denise went back to Hong Kong in 2000 and worked in the media. She is now the chief editor of Marie Claire (Hong Kong edition). 2011 will be her fourth year as the chief editor of this monthly magazine. Meanwhile she does some translations from English into Chinese, one of which, Detox Your career by Patrick Forsyth, was published in Hong Kong in 2007.

    Chi-Chang will soon be taking another break from his investment research career to spend more time with family and on tai chi. Baby Herng Shan was born in December 2009. His other 2009 "baby", The Budget: How the Government is Spending OUR Money, has been a best-seller in Malaysia where he is also the University's alumni ambassador.

    BSc Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry 1994–97 and MSc IAMBEC 1998-99
    After graduation, Diane started her own business, Anthias Consulting. Anthias Consulting specialises in gas chromatography (GC) and works with manufacturers, analysts and universities around the UK and Europe. Diane previously worked as an applications chemist at Anatune and in her spare time races cars in the Toyota Sprint Series and surveys coral reefs with Coral Cay Conservation.

    John Weeks MBA 1994-97
    Has been appointed as Strategic Director (People) in the new Cheshire East Unitary Council. John's responsibilities include all Children's Services, Social Care Services for Adults and Health and Wellbeing Services. He was previously Deputy Director of Social Services in Warwickshire and Director in Shropshire, and has also worked in the voluntary sector and the NHS.
