Rossana Favero-Karunaratna (LLM Law and Development 1993-94)Currently a PhD candidate (Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo) in the area of immigration, intermarriage and citizenship. Published a book on these issues in 2002 (Sudu-The legal status of foreign spouses in Sri Lanka). Worked as a tutor for the programme of Conflict Resolution organized by Bradford University in association with SSA. Edited a book on South-South experiences in conflict resolution. Published a book "Condors and peacocks-from Latin America to Sri Lanka" based in personal experience, would say it is part of the so called diasporic literature. Published short stories for children for Perera Hussein Publishing House, Iguana Magazine in the USA and Channels Literary Journal in Sri Lanka. Happily married to Kahandawala Parakrama (LLM Law and Dev. 93-94) who is involved in an environmental legal consultancy at the moment and proud mother of two children - one already graduated from Havana University (Knowledge Management). |

David LaytonMEd Continuing Education 1991-93Since graduating, David has been engaged in numerous areas of work at Walsall College where he began his Further Education teaching career in October 1981. After leaving Warwick he became involved with a university partnership to enable students to progress to Higher Education and was instrumental in Hospitality and Travel Programmes offered at the College. He also undertook a HEFCE funded secondment, was a curriculum manager for several years for hospitality, travel & tourism and languages. He has also established study programmes with partner institutions in Russia and more recently held the role of international tutor for those overseas students who follow our programmes at Foundation and Graduate Diploma level; linked to a number of partner universities – a role which he is thoroughly enjoying and hopes to expand. |

Seema was a freelance management consultant with over 10 years' experience of working with organisations such as Accenture and PriceWaterhouse Coopers. After leaving Warwick she also developed a political career which included running for the London Assembly, advising politicians and government on diversity issues and becoming the first Asian chair of the Fabian Society. She was recently elected MP for Feltham and Heston. |

Annabella Matute-CastroLLM Law in Development 1994-95Soon after Warwick Annabella set up her own company back in Peru providing legal services and project management to the third sector. Back in the UK now, she has incorporated a partnership which trades locally and overseas: M C International Links Limited. Among other things, they provide the best suited volunteers in community and development in the UK and India. She is loving every minute of her job: rewarding, exciting and very down to earth. Colin O'HareMMath 1993-97After graduating in 1997 Colin became an actuary with Watson Wyatt in Birmingham working in the trustee pensions consulting field. He worked over the next nine years in various pensions consultancies in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Belfast. In 2008 he moved into academia and set up the actuarial science and risk management degree at Queens University Belfast. The highly successful degree has around 40 students per year graduating and going into high level actuarial employment. He is enthusiastic about good teaching and engagement with students and has been successful in winning many awards for his teaching activities. Most notably he was awarded a QUB teaching award in 2010 and in 2011 was a finalist in the Times Higher Education's Most Innovative Teacher of the Year. |

Siân PriceBA History 1994-97Siân is a multi-award-winning television and radio documentary producer, specialising in history and military. Television credits include Time Team, Coal House and Beyond Boundaries. After graduating from Warwick, she went on to study for an MA in Film Archiving & Film Studies at the University of East Anglia. She has recent published her first book, If You're Reading This, a moving collection of ‘farewell letters’ written by servicemen and women to their loved ones, which was inspired by her BBC Radio 4 documentary of the same name that won a New York Festivals Radio Award for History. Siân now lives in Cardiff. |
