Classics and Ancient History
The Classics Department at Warwick is one of the best in the UK. Its international reputation rests on its innovative and intensive teaching and on research which continues to open up new aspects of Greco-Roman antiquity and its importance in later history. At the same time there is an emphasis on traditional skills: all our degree programmes enable students to begin an ancient language, or to advance their knowledge of Latin and Greek. Graduate students at Warwick have been successful in securing studentships and conference funding from the University's Humanities Research Centre as well as from the AHRC and other sources. The Department also offers a range of postgraduate bursaries.
