Examination Mitigations
The University’s Examination and Degree Conventions (J10 (c)) state that, ‘All mitigating evidence, whether directly from a candidate or from a personal tutor or other member of University staff on behalf of a candidate, should be communicated in writing to the Secretary of the Board of Examiners in advance of the Board meeting to ensure clarity of information and that a proper record exists and can be subsequently kept’.
Students are advised that their Personal Tutors are often an efficient route for submitting such evidence, but that ultimately it is your responsibility to ensure that any mitigating circumstances are communicated in writing to the Secretary of the relevant Board of Examiners. Please liaise with your Personal Tutor and/or another member of staff, as appropriate, to ensure that any mitigating circumstances are clearly documented.
