Timetable - 2011/12

Term 1

• Monday 10th October
  A 250 word plan of study and title of dissertation must be handed & signed in through the Departmental Office by 12 noon.
  
  
• Tuesday 4th and 11th October, S0.20
  Writing a Dissertation: Aims, Methods, Objectives, Problems
  
• Tuesday 18 October 2-3pm: SURNAMES A–J: Library Training Room
  Library resources for writing dissertations (Helen Ireland)
  
• Tuesday 25th October 2-3pm: SURNAMES K-Z: Library Training Room
  Library resources for writing dissertations (Helen Ireland)
  
• Week 2
  Supervisors designated
  
• Weeks 2/3
  Students to arrange to see supervisors promptly to discuss plans of study and work.
  
• Wednesday 26th October
  Students will sign & hand in to the office by 12 noon an outline plan of the project including chapter headings and other appropriate descriptions together with samples of material and notes.
  
• Friday 9th December
  A sample chapter must be handed & signed in through the office by 12 noon for detailed comment by the Supervisor.

Term 2

• Weeks 1 & 2 (room tba)
  Students will present a short presentation before peers of dissertation topics.
  
• Wednesday 25 January 2011
  Precise title of the dissertation must be signed & logged in the office by 12 noon.
  
• Friday 16 March 2011 - 12 noon
  Submission deadline for dissertation.
