Departmental Open Days - English Literature Q300

Department of English & Comparative Literary Studies Offer Holder Open Days

This year, for entry in October 2018, we will be holding four Open Days for those holding offers to study the English Literature Degree at Warwick. Please see all the details below and decide which day to attend, please ensure you register so we can prepare for your arrival! The days you can attend are:

  • Wednesday 31st January 2018
  • Wednesday 7th February 2018
  • Wednesday 14th March 2018
  • Wednesday 25th April 2018

This is a great chance for you to get to know us a little better, and for you to learn what it’s like to be an English student at Warwick, not least by talking to the real experts, our current students.

The afternoon begins with a Welcome to English talk where you will be greeted by the Head of Department, Professor Maureen Freely, and hear a sample lecture from one of our many world-renowned academics. After this talk, you will proceed to our English ‘Fair’ where you’ll have the chance for informal chats with staff, students, and representatives from a range of Societies.

During the afternoon, you will also have a scheduled one-to-one conversation with a member of staff – this is a brilliant opportunity to ask questions about the course and about Warwick, or simply to enjoy talking about books with someone who shares your passion about Literature and can help it grow in new directions. Throughout the day you’ll also learn about our English Literature pathways in greater depth, as well all the opportunities – social, intellectual and professional – that will be available to you during your time at Warwick. The day will end with tea and cake.

The events planned for the four afternoons differ very slightly in their offerings, so you should consult the different schedules for the day on which you choose to attend. We only ask that you sign up for one day. When you arrive at the welcome lecture, we will give you the chance to sign up for the individual sessions that interest you.
Warwick Offer-Holder Mornings

In addition, you also have the option to book onto our Warwick Offer Holder Mornings, which are run exclusively for offer-holders on the mornings of our Department Open Days. These are designed for those who would like to receive general information about the University, our accommodation and finance & funding and have not previously had a chance to visit campus.
