Funding for MA programmes - 23/24 Entry

Warwick Taught Masters Scholarship Scheme (£500,000 to allocate. Awards are set at up to £10,000 per student)
  • This scheme is available to eligible Home fee status students from under-represented groups.
  • The scholarship will be paid as a contribution towards your tuition fees only. Where a tuition fee is lower than £10,000, you will be awarded up to the amount required to cover your tuition fee only.
  • Further details concerning eligibility criteria can be found here.
  • Deadline for applications to be received is 31 May 2024 (23:59 hours, GMT).
  • Results of the Warwick Taught Masters Scholarship Scheme award competition will be communicated through email by 31 July 2024.

Midlands4Cities (M4C) Masters Bursary

As part of Warwick’s commitment to supporting routes in to the PhD, the Centre for Arts Doctoral Excellence is excited to announce a new M4C Masters Bursary.

These are for students who will study a Masters course at Warwick, and who intend to subsequently apply for an M4C-funded PhD at the University.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, up to 5 bursaries will be available, worth £10,000 per student (home or international).

  • offer holder for a Masters course in the Arts Faculty or an Arts-adjacent discipline*, due to start in October 2023
  • home or international student
  • full-time or part-time student

Discount Scheme for Masters Degrees (2024 Entry)

Have you considered your options and next steps? If you are thinking about improving your skills and employability through undertaking postgraduate study, we want to help you by making the option of postgraduate study more affordable to our alumni and graduating students.

We are therefore offering a 10% tuition fee discount for graduates of Warwick accepted onto our five full-time and part-time postgraduate masters level courses. This discount is also available to our local community: any applicant living within 15 miles of campus can also claim the 10% discount (proof of address required, either of the applicant or someone you live with, family member, guardians etc).

Please be aware that if you have been awarded an additional scholarship from the department, the 10% will be incorporated into the full amount rather than in addition to your other award.


English and Comparative Literary Studies Bursaries (2 awards, each worth £4000)

The Department is pleased to announce that it will be awarding two bursaries of £4000 each to outstanding students applying for entry in 2024/2025. All applicants will be considered.

Performance and Pedagogy Bursary 2023/24 (1 award, worth £4,000) - Applications CLOSED
  • The successful applicant will be placed at a host secondary school where they devise and deliver a performance-based module that examines one of Shakespeare's plays
  • This project is suitable for an MA student with a proven interest in practical theatre and education who shows an ongoing intellectual commitment in these areas
  • Eligible MA programs for 2023 are: English Literature, World Literature, English and Drama, Critical and Cultural Theory, Environmental Humanities
