Welcome!

Bertolt Brecht's Berliner EnsembleOur website is divided up into a number of key sections each of which can be accessed by clicking one of the tabs on the left. If you are a prospective applicant interested in taking an undergraduate course here you may wish to start by looking at Admissions. There you will find basic information on how to apply, what kind of grades we are looking for, and dates for Open Days. The tab Undergraduate Studies tells you what's involved in the various courses we offer and the tab Modules will give you even more detail about the  individual modules our students study. You will also find information on the Year Abroad which is an integral part of all our degree programmes.

If you are interested in developing your studies at MA or PhD level, click on the tab Postgraduate Studies for more information about what's available. Last year we  launched a new MA in German Cultural Studies and we are currently offering Departmental Bursaries for MA or PhD study, ranging from fees-only bursaries, to full fees and maintenance at Arts and Humanities Research Council rates. We also support applications for the Warwick Postgraduate Research Scholarships (although this year's competition has not yet been formally announced); these scholarships offer full fees and maitenance at AHRC rates. The Monument to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin

Under the tab labelled Staff you will find profiles of all our members of staff together with a brief description of their research interests. You'll also find details of how to contact them.

We are also in the process of building up a page where you can read about what some of our graduates are up to now, and how their degree in German helped them to get where they are. If you were a  student in our department and would like to feature here, we'd love to hear from you: you'll find details of how to submit a profile on the page itself.

Easter Residential School in Schloss Dhaun If you are interested in researching into some German-related topic, you should click on the tab Weblinks to access our award-winning site Warwick German Studies Web (abbreviated to WGSW). There you will find a list of links to German web sites that our specialist librarian Richard Parker has selected as particularly useful. You will find on-line dictionaries and language exercises, as well as sites related to the media and other German cultural institutions. You will also find there the electronically searchable bibliographies covering all the texts and films studied on our modules. You may also wish to view the library's collections in German or just connect to the library catalogue itself
