People in the Department

German studies is not the biggest of departments by Warwick standards, though neither are we small. We are large enough to offer a considerable range of taught modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to boast wide-ranging research specialisms, yet we are small enough for staff and students to know each other by name.

By the end of a four-year degree, most students will have been taught by all members of staff at least once. Every year we take in over 50 students into each cohort, and have 11 members of full-time staff and two part-time members of staff. We also have a lively postgraduate community, currently with four PhD students and a host of students participating on our various MA courses and modules.
