Webcasting
One of the unique foci of research and teaching in Warwick German Studies is the emphasis placed on visual culture. Several members of staff are well-published, internationally recognised experts in contemporary and historical German language cinema, and this is reflected in the unique range of visually oriented/ filmic module options on offer in the department.
In addition to this, our state of the art Transnational Resources Centre is equipped with streaming satellite television, a mini cinema/ film-viewing room, a wide-ranging library of Euorpean film, and high-specification PCs for in-depth film anaylsis.
We continue to roll out internet based teaching resources in audio and audio-visual format (webcasting). This enables students to access useful, and sometimes rare or unique original material designed to assist in the study of German culture from 1750 to the present.
Lectures are often presented online as podcasts, as an addition to face-to-face teaching. Recently, authentic readings of Johann Wolfgang Goethe's lyrical poetry have been placed online and several film-studies projects are also show cased on our webpages.
Below is a range of both embedded German Studies webcasting, as well links to several multi-media research and teaching projects created by staff in the department.
