About Modern History Review

Modern History Review is published by Philip Allan for Hodder Education and is aimed at sixth-form students helping them to learn more, gain deeper subject knowledge and the skills to study independently, to get the grade they're really looking for.

The magazine is edited by members of the History Department at the University of Warwick and brings academic excellence and state-of-the-art thinking to A-level historians.

Modern History Review is focused on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with all the popular features that help students make the most of articles, such as margin glossaries, timelines and links to further reading. The magazine includes:

• New perspectives on key topics including the Cold War, Gladstone and Disraeli, the outbreak of the First World War, the Blitz, the Holocaust, Mao's Cultural Revolution, Trotsky, and Britain's Welfare State
• In-depth analyses of selected documents: not just written, but paintings, films, buildings and other sources

Meet the Editors

	Professor Chris Read is Professor of Twentieth-Century European History and the Lead Editor of the Modern History Review. Chris is a popular speaker to audiences of A level students on all aspects of modern European history and is renowned for his research on the Russian Revolution. Chris commissions articles for the Modern History Review on all aspects of European history.
	Dr Tim Lockley is an expert on early American History and commissions articles for the Modern History Review on early modern topics as well as for the wider world outside Britain and Europe. He currently acts as Admissions Tutor for both the Department of History and the School of Comparative American Studies and is thus able to offer expert advice on navigating the University Admissions system.
	Dr Sarah Richardson researches and writes on modern British political history and has contributed to radio and TV programmes including In Our Time and the popular Who Do You Think You Are? She was recently Director of the History Subject Centre which was responsible for promoting the teaching and learning of all aspects of History at Higher Education level. Sarah commissions articles on British history for the Modern History Review.
