Degree Programmes
![]() |
The Department of History offers several different degree programmes, catering to a wide range of interests in the study of History. Teaching on all of the programmes is generally delivered via lectures, seminars and tutorials. However, tutors employ a wide range of other methods to supplement these standard formats including web-based forums, podcasts, workshops, presentations, group work and field trips. Core modules can vary in their delivery, whereas optional modules are usually structured around one lecture per week and one seminar of an hour and a half per fortnight. In students' final year of study, special subjects and advanced options usually have fewer lectures and longer seminars of around two hours per week.
