Single Honours History
The Single Honours History degree programme offers a well-structured history degree, built around core modules in each of the three years, while allowing a wide range of options to suit individual interests. All students receive tuition in one modern European language during their first two years. Students choose between two broad pathways: Modern History, which allows the maximum choice of options, or Renaissance and Modern History which, while still allowing students to choose some optional modules from the whole range of the department's expertise, places greater emphasis on the early modern period, including one term spent studying the Italian renaissance in Venice. Applicants do not need to indicate a preference between these pathways. The choice of pathway is made when students arrive at Warwick.
Please note that in their second year, single-honours History students may apply for a Year Abroad through the Erasmus Programme and the Americas Exchange Programme. If successful in their application, the student will convert from a three-year course to a four-year course with the Year Abroad taking place between the second and final years of study at Warwick.
