Xi’a n Cultural Trip in China (中国西安-文化旅行)

This year we are very lucky to be invited to Xi’an Cultural Trip in China by Northwest Polytechnic University (NWPU), Xi’an, China. Students of Chinese in Warwick Language Centre and members of staff working School of Modern Languages and Culture are welcome to join!

Xi'an, the Capital of Ancient China, is a place of history. Emperors of thirteen dynasties chose here as their political, cultural and economic center. It has been a bright pearl along the Silk Road for 2000 years.

Time: 29 July - 3 August 2016


  • Accommodation (on-campus): 120-150 CNY pppn, two occupants sharing a bathroom

  • Train fares: Beijing – Xi’an (for those already in China), 255 CNY overnight sleeper train for 12 hours – 519 CNY High Speed train for 4 hours. More details can be found

  • Entrance fees to historical places to be self-paid (some places are free)

Activities:(here is the schedule)

  • Meeting students and staff (sharing practice and networking) from Foreign Language Departments, NWPU (free dinner provided)

  • Touring places

Notes: Attendance on 30 July -1 August are preferably required, and arriving earlier and leaving late can be arranged.
