Connecting across borders.

One of the most important affordances of the internet it the opportunity it provides to connect and collaborate with others irrespective of their goegraphical constraints. The Language Centre has a shared course area within Languages@Warwick where all our teaching staff can connect and support each other. We also have spaces which are portals for connecting with other language teachers and learners such as our virtual exchange portal EWC and ewcs. A newly opened space "monwar" connects language researchers from both Warwick and Monash, Australia. These formal spaces are also enhanced by connecting through less formal spaces on social media such as twitter and Google +.

The work of the Language Centre in these spaces has been widely recognised as ground breaking. We have extensive expertise in international computer-mediated communication and the emerging field of Online Intercultural Exchange.
