  • In 2012, Frau Grit Bredencke was a commendee for a Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence (see picture above right)
  • In 2007 Dr Sean Allan followed suit, being given the award following his wide-ranging contributions to the undergraduate teaching portfolio and to e-learning resources. In 2009 he received a National Teaching fellowship Award of £10k from the Higher Education Academy (see picture above left).
  • In 2003, Prof Erica Carter was among the first three members of University staff to receive a Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence.

The awards scheme was established in 2002 to recognise and celebrate those whose teaching is of a particularly high standard. Students and staff were invited to nominate individuals that they felt had demonstrated exceptional ability, innovative methods or had established effective links between research and teaching. Each award winner was presented with £5,000 to support their teaching and research activities.
