Leverhulme funding - International Network on Renaissance Conflict and Rivalries'
Congratulations are due to Dr DAVID LINES (Italian) on the recent award of funding for a Leverhulme International Network on ‘Renaissance Conflict and Rivalries: Cultural Polemics in Europe, c. 1400–c. 1650’. This project, directed by Dr LINES, will involve colleagues from the CSR in three colloquia in collaboration with the Warburg Institute and the Universities of Bonn, Leuven, Venice (Ca’ Foscari), and Florence, and will run from 2012-15.
The Annual Meeting of the Renaissance Society of America is one of the most prominent interdisciplinary gatherings in the field of Renaissance and Early Modern Studies. Warwick's Centre for the Study of the Renaissance has a long tradition of representation at this event. At the meeting of 22-24 March 2012 at Washington DC the University of Warwick will have a corporate presence of no less than 11 members of its staff and students (from the departments of Classics, French Studies, Italian, History and History of Art): Louise Bourdua, Ingrid De Smet, Simon Gilson, David Lines, Lorenzo Pericolo, Eugenio Reffini, Giorgio Riello, Penny Roberts, Sara Trevisan, Maude Vanhaelen, and Melanie Zefferino. Also present will be Emeritus Professor Julian Gardner (History of Art) and Professor Peter Mack (English and Comparative Literature), currently on secondment as Director of the Warburg Institute.
