Research at CAPITAL
|
A key part of CAPITAL's work is to research and develop the workshop model of teaching and learning. Dr Nick Monk, Research Fellow, and Jonathan Heron, Research Associate, are developing CAPITAL's methodology and creative practice around open space learning. Together with Professor Jonothan Neelands of the Warwick Institute of Education they are taking this work further with the support of an award from the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme for Open-space Learning in Real World Contexts. With the Reinvention Centre, its sister CETL at Warwick, CAPITAL is developing a project on Creative Environments for Learning to build on the CETLs' experience and research to support the University and the HE sector in planning the Teaching Spaces of the Future. Jonathan Heron is also co-ordinating the e-learning project Re-Performing Performance which will demonstrate and disseminate the innovative use of performance archives within teaching and learning. The website will connect and record his associated pedagogic research projects focusing on Shakespeare. Collaborative Plays by Shakespeare and Others, an AHRC funded research project, led by Professor Jonathan Bate, is also taking place within the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies and the CAPITAL Centre at the University of Warwick.
