Nataliya Tkachenko (Academic Technologist)
Having obtained double degree in Linguistics (BSc Hons) and Environmental Science (BSc MSc Hons) from Ukraine, I then completed MSc degree in Spatial Information Systems at ParisTech (distinction) in France.
I hold a permanent post at the University of Warwick since 2011, when I joined the School of Life Sciences as a Scientific Data and Research Information Officer. My role included scientific simulations and maintenance of decision-support tools for farming industry and commercial partners (e.g., Syngenta). My growing interest in social media, both as a data source and as an instigator of new methods' development, as well as an interest in teaching prompted me to apply for a role of an Academic Technologist in CIM. My responsibilities here include support of academics and students using technology in teaching and learning and research, provision of support service for the use of digital methods, such as those grounded in network analysis, data visualization, use of API, scraping and crawling the Web.
Other activities @Warwick
I stay actively interested in spatial methods and I am also the Head of Warwick ICA-OSGeo Lab.
