Applying to the DTC
|
The main programme of the Doctoral Training Centre consists of four-year long integrated Masters+PhD training, which starts every year at the end of September. For Open Days in 2011-12 click here If you would like to apply for a place on our programme (with or without funding), then please see how to apply on the Graduate School website, or apply now via the online application form. Next start date of the programme for potential applicants is 24 September 2012. Applying for the combined Masters+PhD: find Complexity Science under "Research" on the Graduate School website and/or in the online form. There is no application fee. Where the Application Form invites a full research proposal, it is sufficient to tell about your motivation for research in Complexity Science. MSc only applicants: find Complexity under "Taught" [Courses] on the Graduate School website and/or in the online form website. Note that we cannot offer EPSRC funding for MSc-only applicants. There is also a modest application fee for these applications. Funding
EU students can also qualify for funding as per UK above, provided you satisfy both of the following:
Apart from these, we can only direct you to general (and still rather limited ) funding opportunities advertised by Warwick Graduate School: click here for this funding advice. Warwick Postgraduate Research Scholarship. Click the map to visit the Warwick International Office's information for your part of the world. |
For UK students we have a limited number of EPSRC studentships covering tuition fees, plus a premium level of maintenance grant, ca £14,000 pa.
For other EU students the main EPSRC funding can only cover fees, not maintenance allowance, except for entry from Autumn 2011, 1 studentship per year can cover maintenance too, for an exceptional candidate.
For funding of other students from outside EU, and for maintenance of non-resident EU students, our scope to offer any funding through the DTC is extremely limited. A new EPSRC rule allows us to offer 1 studentship per year to an exceptional student of any citizenship, including maintenance grant and fees at the EU rate. For exceptional candidates with predominantly mathematical bent, there may be a possibility for the Mathematics department to pay the difference between overseas and EU fees.
