The Centre for East European Language Based Area Studies is a HEFCE-funded national consortium of institutions with a focus on Russia and Eastern Europe, including Birmingham and Warwick. CEELBAS supports area-studies initiatives around the country. In 2008/09, and again in 2009/10, the Universities of Birmingham and Warwick have jointly secured CEELBAS funding for an interdisciplinary Russia seminar that meets twice in each institution and serves the Midlands region.
