Reinventing Galleons: Researching Global Connections

The main aim of this project is to make the students enrolled on the innovative second-year History module, Galleons and Caravans, active participants in the research of global connections in the early modern world. To achieve this, we have the following objectives in mind: to foster a learning context where staff and students work together as active partners in the research process; and to collaborate in the production of research-based learning materials. The seminars will be designed around small collaborative research projects, which will have as their aim the gathering of textual and visual materials. These learning materials will include online module guidance, an online exhibition, and a textbook with a matching online sourcebook.
