    About Us

Reinvention: an International Journal of Undergraduate Research was founded through the Reinvention Centre jointly by Warwick and Oxford Brookes University in 2007. The journal was created in order to embrace the notion of academia as a community, with students playing a strong and active role in that community, and aims to support undergraduate students in their first foray into academic publishing.

In 2012 Monash University became partners in the journal which is now produced, edited and managed by students and staff at the University of Warwick in the UK and Monash University in Australia. This new relationship is part of the Monash-Warwick alliance, which aims to increase the global reach of each institution, providing the opportunity to exchange staff, students, ideas and information in order to offer a seamless global Higher Education experience to students and staff. The relationship looks to ensure that every Warwick student is an international student and that inter-cultural learning is provided in a cosmopolitan environment through collaboration with students from other countries. Monash too seeks to develop global perspectives among its students through collaboration, not just between the University’s Australian and international campuses, but especially with the University’s overseas partner institutions. Monash’s Graduate Attributes Policy aims to ensure that their graduates become responsible and effective global citizens who engage in an internationalised world. The student and staff team working collaboratively through Reinvention, publishing student research from both institutions and numerous other universities around the world, supports the aims of both universities.

Reinvention is an online, peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to the publication of high-quality undergraduate student research. The journal welcomes academic articles from all disciplinary areas and all universities. All articles undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and refereeing by two or three anonymous referees. Reinvention is published bi-annually and only houses papers written by undergraduate students or papers written collaboratively by undergraduate students and academics.

Reinvention is published through the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning at the University of Warwick, a department designed to support the University’s unequivocal commitment to teaching and the development of innovative programmes and modes of delivery which have a real impact on student experience.
