Assessment is a perennial issue for higher education and is currently in the spotlight of the National Student Survey and the forthcoming QAA. This event will not offer a series of presentations of good practice but invites colleagues to make a case and argue for, or gainst, different types of assessment, for example: of groups or individuals, by written exam, presentations or performance.

The Higher Education Academy has recently launched its new publication, A Marked Improvement, making a case for transforming the way assessment is designed and carried out. At Warwick, Teaching Quality has recently organised an awayday to discuss assessment and this event will provide an opportunity for reporting and feedback from that exercise.
