Psychology

The Psychology pathway within the Midlands Graduate School is available to those whose projects fall within ESRC remit. You may find this statement provided by the BPS helpful in deciding which Research Council funding your project sits best with in discussion with your potential supervisors. In addition, the ESRC has a remit query form where you can submit project summaries for a decision in advance of making an application.

The School of Psychology at Nottingham offers excellent opportunities for postgraduates both during and beyond the PhD, with an excellent track record in supporting students into post-doctoral work. The staff and majority of their research were classed as either world-leading or internationally excellent in the last Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise.

The School has particular strengths in the following areas:

Applied Cognitive Psychology (including the Accident Research Unit) Computational Neuroscience People and Society
Behavioural Neuroscience Human Development and Learning Psychology Learning and Teaching Enhancement
Cognition and Language Perception and Action Visual Neuroscience

PhD Application:

Apply for the PhD in Psychology or PhD in Applied Psychology depending on your area of research interests within Psychology.

Please mention in your Nottingham application that you have applied for ESRC funding.
