Socio-Legal StudiesSocio-Legal Studies has a long distinguished history in the School of Law at the University of Nottingham, in the Research Excellence Framework 2021, 85% of our research was ranked as world-leading or internationally excellent.

With over 60 research students and 160 students on taught Masters programmes, the School of Law boasts a
vibrant postgraduate environment. A large number of graduates go on to pursue very successful careers in academic and policy research, as well as in legal practice.

Applicants for 2024 entry to Socio-Legal Studies should contact a prospective supervisor in the first instance. Alternatively, please send your CV, a one-page note on your preparation and motivation to conduct research to PhD level and a one-page outline of your proposed research topic to Kobie.neita@nottingham.ac.uk by 15 December 2023. We can advise on your eligibility and the fit of your proposed research with our interests and expertise.
