Short Biography

David Wild is a computational biologist with extensive academic and industrial experience of working at the interface of the mathematical and physical sciences and molecular biology. He received a B.A. in Physics from York University, a D.Phil. in Molecular Biophysics from Oxford University, and also holds masters degrees in Mathematics and Biostatistics. He has held staff positions at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, the Salk Institute, and has worked in industry with Allelix Biopharmaceuticals - Canada’s then flagship biotechnology company, Oxford Molecular and GlaxoWellcome. He was one of the founding faculty of the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences, part of the prestigious Claremont Colleges consortium in California (known as "Oxford of the Orange Groves"). He is currently Emeritus Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick and is affiliated with the Zeeman Institute. His research interests encompass statistical bioinformatics, systems and structural biology.
