Warwick Orthopaedics is the academic unit for trauma and orthopaedics at Warwick Medical School, in partnership with Warwickshire hospitals. We are at the forefront of clinical practice and research in trauma and orthopaedics.
ResearchOur primary research focus is the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of various techniques and treatments in orthopaedic surgery. This is an important area of research, not only because resource limitations have brought questions of effectiveness and cost to the top of political agendas, but because it has long been overlooked in this specialty. EducationWarwick Orthopaedics offers a great range of educational opportunities for medical students, SpRs, Fellows, Consultants and health professionals in related disciplines. We are involved in teaching University of Warwick Medical Students, at pre-clinical and clinical stages. In terms of CPD, we offer a specialist MClinSci programme, including a series of Masters-level evidence-based courses. Throughout the year we also hold one- and two day symposia on key topics for orthopaedic surgeons. Read more about our educational activities. ClinicalOur clinical work is based at the hospitals comprising the UHCW NHS Trust (University Hospital at Walsgrave, Hospital of St Cross & Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital), George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, and Warwick Hospital, Warwick. |
