Welcome to Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Warwick Medical School.

We are a centre of excellence for research, teaching and development of the treatment of musculoskeletal disease. The Medical School is a collaboration between the University of Warwick and NHS Trusts in Coventry and Warwickshire; Warwick Orthopaedics encompasses research and teaching groups as well as 30 consultant surgeons and their teams working in several hospital locations.

Our principal research interest is in measuring the clinical effectiveness of orthopaedic surgery – working out which operations work and which do not, and where there are choices, which are most effective. We are extensively involved in teaching medical students, higher degree students, junior doctors, senior surgeons and other clinical staff. And, of course, we work to ensure that we are providing the very best care for patients who need orthopaedic surgery
