WMS orthopaedics

WMS orthopaedics

Postgraduate Courses

We are able to offer following courses at Warwick Medical School:

1: Evidence Based Care of the Spinal Patient

2: Evidence Based Care of the Upper Limb Patient

3: Evidence Based Care of the Lower Limb Patient

4: Evidence Based Musculoskeletal Care: Intramedullary Nailing

5: Evidence Based Musculoskeletal Care: External Fixation

6: A Research Methods Module

Each course can be taken alone as a Postgraduate Award [PGA] or it may be taken as a specialist option in the Evidence Based Musculoskeletal Care MSc programme. Each module carries 20 CATS at Masters level.

This series of courses encourages clinicians to practice evidence-based musculoskeletal medicine and surgery. It teaches them the skills to gather and critically appraise evidence of diagnostic and treatment effectiveness, and use this evidence to guide the management of patients with musculoskeletal problems.

Likely candidates include people providing musculoskeletal care in primary care, or training in orthopaedic surgery or a related hospital specialty.  We are looking to admit only students with some prior relevant experience.  The constituency will be multidisciplinary, and may include adult learners with professional rather than academic qualifications (for example, nurse practitioners and physiotherapists).
