    Primary Research

We design, lead and perform studies to provide primary evidence of the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of treatments. We are at the centre of national networks to perform multi-centre, externally funded observational studies and trials to measure and compare the clinical effectiveness of operations and other interventions. We work to establish international collaborations to achieve greater breadth and generalisability. Studies of cost effectiveness and best design of health care systems are performed in collaboration with partners at Warwick and elsewhere in the UK. One example is the UK Heel Fracture Study.
