Treating Haemophilia

Most cases are mild, but people with severe haemophilia experience symptoms, such as frequent internal bleeding, which need ongoing care. Symptoms usually occur around the joints and muscles, causing pain and stiffness, and over time can lead to joint damage. There is no cure for haemophilia, but with improvements in treatment, people with the condition usually have a normal life span and good quality of life. For example, genetically engineered clotting factor medications can prevent and treat prolonged bleeding.
