Emergency Care and Rehabilitation

WMSEmergency Care

Prehospital care

Aims

AmbulancePrehopsital care has seen a shift away from the traditional model of transferring patients to further care to a new model of clinical care. Within this model multidisciplinary health care professionals undertake the management of a wide range of illnesses and injuries and now some patients are managed at the scene obviating the need to transfer to further care. Best clinical outcomes for patients result from the use of evidence based clinical practice guidelines underpinned by best evidence.

Clinical Practice Guidelines -  Adopting rigorous methodology this research group provides the evidence to support the JRCALC guideline process and in the development of innovative methods of dissemination.

Service Delivery
- Our research looks at the how care is best delivered and methodologies for ensuring consistent reliable delivery.
