Guideline Summary


The most important feature of managing an obstetric incident is a rapid and accurate assessment of the mother to ascertain whether there is anything abnormal taking place. This guideline provides guidance for paramedics1 for the assessment and management of imminent birth for normal delivery and delivery complications.

1The principles will be applicable to all pre-hospital clinicians.
