Biography

Dr Hema Mistry is an Associate Professor in Clinical Trials and Health Economics in the Clinical Trials Unit at Warwick Medical School (WMS). Her current role involves developing a programme of high-quality clinical trials namely for maternal health and surgery, pain and rehabilitation. She also works on a number of clinical trials, where she leads the health economics components and supervises junior health economists. She joined the University of Warwick in 2013, working primarily for the Warwick Evidence Technology Appraisal Review team where she jointly led the health economics input into Health Technology Assessment projects for the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence appraisal process. Prior to joining Warwick, she previously worked at the University of Birmingham and at Brunel University. She has an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York and a PhD in Health Economics from Brunel University. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and she lectures on postgraduate modules at WMS. She is a member of the Health Economics Study Group (HESG) and the International Health Economics Association (iHEA).
