    RESEARCH PROFILE


    Principal Research Fellow in Health Technology Assessment: With a background in Medical Statistics and Demography, Kandala's area of research interest is statistical modelling, especially Multivariate Statistics, Generalized Linear Models, Analysis of Discrete Data and State Space Models for Longitudinal and Spatial Data, focusing mainly on the influence of environmental factors on health in diverse population. His current research interests include statistical methods applied to epidemiology, survival analysis meta-analysis and Bayesian Analysis.


    BACKGROUND


    Kandala Ngianga-Bakwin joined the University of Warwick since 2006 as a Senior Research Fellow in Medical Statistics. His main priority is to develop high quality statistical support to a number of research programmes within Warwick Medical School and develop independent areas of research that complement the existing research activities of the school. Prior to joining Warwick, he worked as a Medical Statistician at King's College London as well as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton. Kandala previously worked with the University of Montreal, Canada (Mellon training fellowship in Demography), the University of Munich (LMU), Germany (under Professor Ludwig Fahrmeir and Professor Stephan Klasen), and the University of Lagos, Nigeria as an Associate Lecturer.
