RESEARCH PROFILE

Particular areas of interest are experimental design and analysis, longitudinal data analysis, ordinal regression models and digital image processing and analysis using neural networks

BACKGROUND

  • Completed MSc at Warwick University (dissertation on Bayesian methods in survival analysis) and worked in medical statistics for one year.
  • PhD student in Applied Mathematics Department (Queen Mary, University of London) from 1999-2004 under supervision of Dr Steve Gilmour and Rodney Edmondson (HRI), developing novel statistical methods (generalized estimating equations and artificial neural networks) for analysing quality assessment data from experimental crop trials.
  • 10 years experience as a statistical consultant. Working with scientists from a wide range of biological disciplines, medics and collaborators from a number of commercial organisations
  • Member of the International Biometric Society and Royal Statistical Society.
  • Present employment, based in the Clinical Sciences Research Institute at Warwick University, requires me to work collaboratively with scientists and medics, both within the University and externally.
