Singapore research institutes

Students spend two years of the programme at one of the following A*STAR research institutes

    A*STAR Bioinformatics Institute (BII)

The BII focuses on theoretical approaches aimed at understanding biomolecular mechanisms that underlie biological phenomena, the development of computational methods to support this discovery process, and experimental verification of predicted molecular and cellular functions of genes and proteins with biochemical methods.

    A*STAR Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI)

BTI has core expertise in bioprocess science and engineering and has initiated new research programmes that will complement, add onto, as well as exploit existing capabilities.

A*STAR Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS)

The scientific focus of GIS is to investigate questions in the realm of functional genomics and integrative biology, exploiting the intersect between genomics, cell biology, and medicine and taking advantage of the contrasting genetic history of Pan-Asian populations to uncover fundamental truths. GIS' biological focuses on cancer biology, stem cell genomics, cellular pharmacology, and host-pathogen interactions are integrated with technology development in order to create novel solutions to difficult problems.

A*STAR Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB)

IMCB has established itself as a premier molecular and cell biology institute, with a vision to remain a premier molecular biology and cell institute with increasing focus on addressing the mechanistic basis of human diseases.

    Singapore Immunology Network or SIgN

The mandate of SIgN is to advance human immunology research and participate in international efforts to combat major health problems. Researchers at SIgN investigate immunity during infections and inflammatory conditions, including cancer, using both mouse models and human tissues.

Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS)

Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI)

A*STAR Infectious Disease Labs (ID Labs)

    A*STAR Skin Research Labs (A*SRL)

A*STAR PHYSICAL SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING RESEARCH INSTITUTES:
