The University of Warwick considers overseas applications to the UK MSc programme in Implant Dentistry. It is important to appreciate that overseas students will be required to attend this postgraduate programme in the UK as an international student
Attendance and Visa RequirementsAs an International student you will be required to attend three times at the University of Warwick for 1 week for each year of the programme. It is important that you check you meet the visa and entry requirements of the UK. The Principles of Implant DentistryIn addition to attending the UK in the first year you will also have to take the Principles of Implant Dentistry course run by GIFT at the nearest regional training centres to you. This course is made up of ten full-day training workshops delivered at a Regional Teaching Centre in Dubai. It is normally divided in to two day teaching sessions held at approximately two monthly intervals throughout the year. Degree RecognitionThe MSc in Implant Dentistry awarded by the University of Warwick is recognised by the British General Dental Council as an additional professional qualification. It does not permit an individual to practice dentistry in the UK unless they first meet the licensing requirements of the GDC. For further information regarding practicing in the UK visit www.gdc-uk.org Clinical Practice in Implant DentistryThe Postgraduate Diploma and the MSc Implant Dentistry require completion of a portfolio giving full documentation of ten implant cases that you have treated. Clinical case supervision is run at the Regional Training Centres as the University of Warwick provides no clinical facilities. Patient supervision will be conducted by a regional course tutor in accordance with Warwick’s code of practice and quality requirements. There may be additional licensing requirements specific to your region which will have to be complied with and should confirm before enrolling on the programme. |
