Warwick Medical School and LifeScan
Warwick Medical School and LifeScan worked in partnership to offer a series of educational initiatives and workshops to promote and implement evidence-based, patient centred diabetes management. The educational initiatives and workshops were delivered by Warwick Medical School Diabetes Education Facilitators who were skilled Registered Nurses with extensive specialist experience in diabetes care and education.
Warwick Medical School and NLH
Warwick Medical School is currently working with NHS Evidence to support the development of the NHS Evidence – diabetes
The Trainers Accreditation programme is designed to teach health care professionals with expertise in diabetes, to facilitate and teach the 'Intensive management in type 2 diabetes' workshops in their local area. These workshops provide advanced skills to enable effective management of people with type 2 diabetes, including insulin initiation. The delivery of this programme is supported by an educational grant from Sanofi Aventis.
Warwick Medical School, Novo Nordisk A /S and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW)
In partnership with UHCW, and financially supported through pump-priming from Novo Nordisk A/S, WMS is underway in developing one of Europe's largest Diabetes Academic Centres' of Excellence through the Warwickshire Institute for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (WISDEM).
Warwick Medical School and the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement (NHSI)
We are working in partnership with the NHSI to develop a programme to support the national implementation of the Think Glucose campaign.
Warwick Medical School and The Ministry of Health in Nicosia, Cyprus
The Ministry of Health in Nicosia invited representatives from Warwick Medical School to set up the Certificate in Diabetes Care (CIDC) course for health professionals. The team adapted the course teaching materials for Greek students and enlisted local specialists in diabetes care to help with teaching.
