Warwick Diabetes Research and Education User Group
Who we are?
The Warwick Diabetes Research and Education User Group is a group of lay people who have an active interest in the diabetes control and care of people living with diabetes. Its main purpose is to assist Warwick Medical School in all aspects of diabetes research and education. It’s purpose is to advise about, rather than take part in studies or teaching.
What is a user?
A user is someone who uses a service. The service is the NHS, and users are patients, partners/carers and organisations that represent users (for example Diabetes UK). Users are required to take a broad view of the topic areas and research methods, they will already have or can be helped to learn the confidence and experience to take an active part in the group meetings.
Who can join?
Anyone who has diabetes or is a partner/carer of someone with diabetes is welcome to join.
The group always welcomes new members, of any age, to help guide our research and education. If you would be interested in joining, or would like further information, please contact us.
New members are offered a mentor if requested.
