The CHiPS Seminar was run on 20th and 22nd September 2011 for pre-clinical medical student at Warwick Medical School. The seminar aimed to raise awareness of patient safety and to practice some skills thought to be useful to medical students and junior doctors.

The format was an introductory lecture followed by four interactive sessions in small groups. These included:

• Preparing for Surgery (Poppy Roberts and Siobhan Reilly)
• MEWS and SBAR (Rebecca Woodside and Jessica Scott)
• Patient Handover (Rosalind Pool and Adam Figgins)
• Clinical Error (Chris Roughley and Tommy Salter)

The project was funded by the Institute for Applied Teaching and Learning at Warwick University. Evaluation of the project is ongoing and results will be published here when available.
