Coventry Uni STEP

STEPUK is a unique, groundbreaking organisation with you and your development in mind.
To help you develop and maximise your potential, CUSTEPUK aims to:
- Increase your access to important principles ranging from trauma and emergency medicine to prehospital care and nursing.
- Increase interprofessional activites.
- Develop links with leading organisations and specialists.
- Increase opportunities for potential healthcare educationalists in supporting education at university and community level.
OUR PROJECTS
CUSTEP helps support the Paramedic Health Promotion initiative run at Coventry University. This scheme sees paramedic students go into the community, both youth groups and schools, to deliver talks covering alcohol awareness and looking after the heart. CUSTEP helps support this by being involved in the programmes and researching current topics.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES
CUSTEP is working alongside STEP@Warwick to produce experience sessions that cover the practical aspects of pre-hospital care; allow for participation in expert training; and also to enhance the interprofessional relationship between all health care professionals involved in pre-hospital environments.
We are also currently recruiting nursing students from Coventry University into the STEPUK scheme.
WHAT WE WANT TO DO
We're aiming to run regular (monthly) scenario/event days with our nursing and medical student collegaues to aid interprofessional learning and communication.
Through STEPUK, we're aiming to roll out our Paramedic Health Promotion initiative to every Paramedic STEPUK society at UK universities.
